Vortex news

While in the back end - just looking at what is what and not. There is a brown two pin plug with black wire, green / black trace tucked up with the LHS rear speaker. I thought it may have been a brake light supply for a shelf mount centre brake light - everything else is there!

FOUND extra brake lights in the light panel strip when I pulled the soft cover. They are the inner portion behind the reflectors, marked USA and EUROPE - just sitting there .Bloody hell, they are even equipped with KOITO 12V21W bulbs and just waiting to be hooked up to the brake circuit - plug too! Startng to bet self the wires are in place up the other end of the brake light in use.

I am a little fond of two STOP lights per side just in case one should accidental fall....

The brown plug mentioned above ain't for stop lights yet...

Gets more intriguing , just as I have no time to play! The stop/tail lights in use - one per side are housed in a twin set up - there is another stop/tail bulb fitted and wired up but not in use as well as the inner stop/tail unit mentioned in post above. So, we now have three ! stop light options on the one level to play with and two tails - per side.

The inners are regarded as stop by our US friends so not a redundant fog light - or maybe - to go with front fog lights under the headlights !!

Yeah.. fog lights is my guess but sounds to me like you could just join them to your existing tail lights and and away you go :)

This is from the 1988 XT FSM

I did a similar thing to my Outback to convert the unused rear fog lights to stop lights

I'll have to have another look/test of that T@ Truck Room Light connector - thanks Gannon. I did realise later models got same deal - lights and stuff all there just no worky!

Scotch locks - shudders. Quick and rather easy but have had dramas in the past and now only strip, solder and insulate....
