Ea82 manual/auto help

Post by sagey » Wed Sep 07, 2011 4:12 pm

Hey guys,

just need to know whether an ea82 from an auto can be bolted up to a manual gearbox and what needs to be done. I had a search around and i read something about the spigot bearing needing something done, still not quite sure what it needs.

Cheers

I presume it is a manual car the motor is going into you don't just need a spigot bearing you need a flywheel as well. Just take the flex plate of the engine from the Auto donor and put the flywheel on. as long as you have the clutch and pressure plate and other bits it will all be plug and play.

as TOONGA says, if you are sourcing an EA82 from a car that had the opposite transmssion to what you have, won't matter. Done it several times myself both ways with EA82. Just - flywheel bolts to crank, and flex plate to crank are different lengths, don't interchange them
