Im in the process of doing it and was making good progress (damn headgaskets)
I have an 89 touring wagon and am putting a vortex ea82 into it
I had it running with the na ecu, i need to hook up the wgds (wastegate duty solenoid) to get the turbo ecu to work
The wiring harness between the turbo and na ecu is almost identical (for the 4 plug ecu) except for the knock sensor and the wgds, they are easy to add in.

Another thing,..
If you have a 89 MPFI loom, you will need a ea82t motor that came from a car built after mid 1987, also known as 4 plug ecu or the hotwire style MAF (mass air flow) .
Turbo motors built between 1984 and july 1987 were the 3 plug, flapper style maf and are not compatable with your mpfi wiring system
Any qtns, feel free to ask
