Free - Upload and Storage of Pictures

Post by Brad » Thu May 11, 2006 2:17 pm

Hi Guys,
I have noticed that a lot of people out there seem to have trouble adding pictures to their post or are hosting them on those crappy sites that put adds all over the place.

Anyway as I like looking at pictures I have an easy solution to this.

I have created a Subaru Album in the Manx Club gallery so that people can upload till they are sick in the head. I have added a few folders.

Basically there are two option:

1- Anyone can add pics to the Misc Subaru Picture Album, simply select add photo and then browse to where it is. Once you press upload the image will be reduced etc automatically to be web ready so to speak.

2- Send me an email and I will make you an album in the Forum Rides area and then send you a log in. Once you have this you can log in and upload to your own album and keep them all together. Once you have a login you can create sub albums etc.

I have found this a great way of getting pics on the web. You can also add info and it makes it much easier to browse around people's rides and follow what they are up to. Picture quality is much better than other options and as I have heaps of space their is no real limit on uploads.

I have added Cal's Ute up as an example not because I know him but because I found it first. If anyone objects then please let me know and I will take it down.

Anyway it is there if you want to use it.

Keep up the good work, this is a great board and helps heaps.

Cheers,

That fine I just hate adds and not just being able to upload direct with the website doing the resizing, thumbnail and letting people add comments and view them easily.

I don't mind if people don't use it, but it is their if they want to and it gives me a place to store all the pics I find around the place.

I think I'll stick with imageshack for now. I do agree that ads are annoying, but they're only optional with imageshack.
