gokarts

Post by coupe » Tue Jun 21, 2011 10:30 am

This is why the turbo handles like a gokart.
This is the height differance with the two cars. Turbo is the taller one.
The Auto has standard springs and also handles like a go kart.
Cheers Pete

sure you don't mean 'billy cart' ?

Yellow springs used to be Selbys colour, a name being resurrected in sway bars by Fulcrum.

Pete, you got a measure of each wheel centre to the top of the wheel arch on both would be handy

Billykart height

Post by coupe » Tue Jun 21, 2011 3:56 pm

Billykart haha
The heights from center are
The turbo height is 38cm or15 "
The auto height is 33 cm or 13"
These are the front guard heights
Strangely the diff on turbo is about a coke can off the tarmac.

OK, thanks, your turbo is spot on to RTA spec as a minimum 380mm.Must have borrowed yer missus sewing tape eh? cm? At the front mine is 385mm and just found the wrecker markings EA82 sed FI 2WD sounds like a Vortex or were there also 2WD sedans with FInjection? Replacing air bags that was......

Holding on for rear guard to centre measures of the turbo...cm will do :)

Gone lookin' for a Coke can but think same as beer can

Front mins for FWD is 345mm, so yours has settled a bit, rear mins 285mm

Lol Damn these people who cant think in imperial.
Turbo rear is 33 cm, the auto is 30 cm.
Yes they made a fwd mfi sedan 1985 onwards. they were called Royale.
the spring length on the rear of a standard shockie is 28 cm assembled.

I think one of the mods is going to put restrictions on how often Jono can change his signature, I cant keep up with them

Pete, thanks. I really need to transfer these details I have here written on poo paper, just on the perforation, bits are missing of the figures.Your measures make your Turbo Vortex at the acceptable height for rego purposes and possibly as it left the factory, mine however has another two inches on your 33 cm. Your FWD is half an inch higher than spec?

Royale, think I have seen one. Coincided with a Royal wedding?

I measured my assembled freeload springs at 27 cm not allowing external casings, both size springs plus 40mm and plus 50mm. Not measured coil wire thickness yet.

Imperial should possibly be outlawed - metric was introduced in 1973.What is worse is those SCA tapes with anodised alloy casing - markings of both measures, marks get confused from time to time.

Think I still have my Hectogram pencil clip on 'animal' from my cereal packet. Go try order two hectograms of stuff rfrom the deli :-)

Gannon has trouble - what about Jonno?
