The ej22 is ok on fuel with an aerodynamic car.... add a lift kit,,, some roof racks... a bull bar... big wheeels.. etc and the fuel economy starts to die.

I made them videos with the "bad music". Turns out what u call bad music, most people liked.... and what i thought i liked (ACDC) most didn't. Truth is there is no song everyone likes. I did my best  .

If your wanting to go "light" 4wding then u don't need a lift kit. I have seen some standard L series's do some rather extream stuff. But looking at your overall budget i think a stock liberty might be your key.

nah name doesn't ring a bell Allan, sorrys :/ I have met alot of ppls over time tho, where bouts do u I know u from ?

More on this car note. May have found a decent GX Liberty. What are the ones with the adjustable air suspension like ? (I gather like anything it can get warn, but the height adjustability sounds like a decent idea).

Also what size rims do these have standard and what rims/tyre combo would people recommend for this car ?

Where is a cheap place to get roof racks ?

I wouldn't bother with an air adjustable model, most people with these convert back to standard. For offroad purposes there's virtually no advantage and you're fitting a lift kit anyway by the sounds of things. The airbags are a costly repair too.

The size of rim depends on the tyres you eventually want to run, I'd go for 15" or 16" myself but on a GX you could also fit 14".

My parents just got some Rola ones on the cheap for their Forester at Repco or Supercheap or something. Either of those two places.

ahhhh ok. Yeh I have noticed that alot of people convert them back. Just I found a local one that sounds like it could be half decent, with towbar already and is the air adjustable model. Is auto and has about 160,000kliks on it, silver in colour I think. I am going to check it out tomorrow will report back. Anything in particular I should check out on this model ? Any particular spots for rust ?

Well, Purchase made, scored a GX wagon, auto, all electrics, cruise etc, Airlift suspension model. Towbar, Roof racks etc. Seems to be in pretty good nick just under 170,000 kliks. $4g. Will see how it goes neways. Seems to tow the trailer fine, will throw some bigger rims and tyres on it and see how it goes on the beach :) Cheers for your assistance and advice guys.
