L series turbo efi into L series

Post by tony » Tue May 10, 2011 10:46 pm

I have a 93 L series and have been offered a complete 89 L series injected turbo.
To swap the motors over is it correct I need the whole wiring loom or can it be shortcutted?
is it worth the effort?

thanks

I think you would need the turbo ea82 loom.
Its not worth the effort as the ej engine are a lot newer and have more performance and are more reliable.

non turbo EJ22 = EFI turbo Ea82

With all the money and trouble, you might as well put a ej22 in and you won't regret it...
Lets see what other say:)

I agree , whichver way you go - a PITA . The EA82T shares similar torque and HP rating of the EJ22. If I had my time again I'd buy an EJ22 already in something like a factory beast, but would not have learnt what I have to date, had the fun, the highs and the lows

Yours is efi already or carby?

Very good Jonno! Had a chuckle and thought about a comeback...

But alas, my brain is ready for sleep, been a big day driving the non turbo in the snow  Turbo would have been more fun I reckon!
