Thumbs Down

Post by rtcb65 » Thu May 05, 2011 1:22 pm

I thought i would start this thread to air out the feelings, that people cause, when they damage your Subaru , or and pride and joy for that matter, for no reason . You know , when you park your car , and you know it was in sweet condition . Then when you come back to it , there is damage that wasn't there before..

In our case , Ross blew a radiator hose only 200 mtres from the back entrance to the house. That is the only reason his car was in the back yard. Went up stairs for the evening meal . Come back down and there is was. Some low life had come in the back yard and keyed the drivers side of the car.. The paint was only a year old.

Sorry to hear about that Rick

I had the same thing happen to a GT Forester we only had it less than a week
It started from the tail light went right down the car to the front indicator then wrote across the bonnet "wanker"
It was school kids we were at a school function

That just wrong jan. Makes ya wonder what happened to respecting other peoples stuff.

I would love to find out who did it, wait till they get older and have worked there arse off to buy and build up a nice car. Then remind them of what they did to this car , and make them stand there and watch me do it to there pride and joy.

Nothings happened to me yet but back when mum drove our L series around she parked one night while she went to church. Came back to find what looked like a whole pan of used motor oil thrown on the windscreen :( From top to bottom it was completely covered. She only just managed to clean a spot so she could see to drive home in the dark.

At least it wasn't permanent damage like yours Rick, disappointing that some people feel they need to do things like this to other peoples cars.
Will it ever end!?

I don't understand why people do this - enjoy the look of others vehicles, pay your respects this way - not by damaging it to bring it down to your level.

I don't know why I'm writing this - they probably won't be reading it anyway.

That's how I pay my respects to someone's pride - and if they're cruising in it and I really dig it, it'll get the thumbs up and usually a huge grin

Best thing you could do, while painstaking, is repair it so it looks the goods again, then watch it like a hawk for the little bugger to appear again.

Cheers

Sven, I remember your pain from that event.

I'm sure you still reminisce about it all the time. I'm hoping the dude that lost all the blood still has complications today as a reminder...

Castration would stop this kinda thing in its tracks - maybe take about a dozen well publicised 'operations' to get the message home (on the TV and at schools etc) to these a52eholes but I figure the reality would soon sink in.

It is a disgusting low act, every time my parents get the car fixed it gets keyed again, it has happened so many times I have lost count. When I first got the brumby I forgot to lock the hardtop one night and woke up to see all my tools, tarps etc spread over the street and the car hit with at least a dozen eggs.

I was out washing it the next day and made sure I had the music loud a big smile on my face, as I was pretty sure a group of young guys who walked past were the ones who did it and I wanted to show that there efforts didn't bother me enough for them to enjoy. (while restraining myself from testing out the brumby bullbar )

my contribution to blatant brainless actions and no resulting apology, starts up about a quarter from the top of pic and down to include a thwack on protection strip- just make out in the reflection ripple lines

Ok there are ''some other hideous'' treatments that could be dished out to the other 50% of the population (females) ! Best not go there with this one.....but I can assure you that it would be equally decisive !:twisted:
In the UK the girls can be as destructive as the guys - but its the guys who do the big cost damage (theft of cars and torching them). Girls seem to just want to get off their face with drink / substances more than the Guys. Maybe lipstic art on the paint work !

That crease on your Brumby Jonno - its the kind that is hardly worth removing (and would cost the same as a bigger crease to fix) but it will catch your eye every time you look at the car :(

Really annoying !
