EZ30 info needed

Post by lincolnthemod » Thu May 05, 2011 11:35 am

Hey guys,

One of my mates is looking to put an EZ30 engine into his Volkswagen Manx, specifically the early EZ engine used from 2000 -2002 (not CANBUS type) with 220 horsepower, cable throttle and cast alloy intake manifold (gonna be f##kin awesome).

He wants to know if anyone knows where to get a horsepower and torque graph or a table of what it makes at what RPM so as to put it into his little calculating program to decide which tyres he wants to go with and just generally check stats.

Cheers in advance,
Lincoln

P.S. Really didn't know where to post this
P.S.S. Has anyone looked into putting these into an MY or L series???? apparently they are only a tiny bit longer than a quad cam EJ25 and that would be nuts

There are apparently some graphs on NAISOC, can't access it at the moment to see. I can give some a bum in seat description of power/torque from the EZ30D in my Gen2. Good low down torque, but torque and power really gives you a kick in the pants over 2200. Thats with 27" tyres, STI manual and 4.44 diffs. From memory the 100 km/h rpm of these in the stock car is really low at about 2450.

EZ30R graph, it's the later motor but i don't see why the trends in the curve would be all that different.

Thanks heaps guys, I didn't think the EZ30 would have that greater torque at low rpm but that's awesome and again thank you
