G'day,
my libbo has a VLSD with male stubs.
I'm looking at getting a Suretrac LSD with
female sockets instead.
Is it as simple as getting male male shafts?
Are WRX and Liberty shafts the same?
And opinions on suretrac from VLSD?
Cheers,
S

It is a pain in the arse as you'll need to go to the wreckers and find the right shaft size to suit yours. Even with the hubs. Once you do - It is possible you will need to make an CV joints from 2 into 1. Ive seen it happen for a WRX a while back.

99% sure that the Suretrac is out of the late 05 onwards WRX STi's so CV shaft lengths vs an early Liberty will be different. Like AP said, you'll need to swap over parts from the WRX shafts into your Liberty ones.
The Suretrac diff is a great mechanical (=noisey) diff and IMO work better than a VSLD but I'd try and find a PLSD diff because you wont need to make and CV joint changes and IMO work better than all of them. I know PLSDs aren't the easiest to come by but buy the time you work out the cost of changing everything over, it would probably work out about the same.

You know you are getting old when the candles on your birthday cake start to cost more than the cake itself.
