The new subie

Post by Ben » Tue Apr 25, 2006 12:06 pm

Traded the liberty on a model better suited to boat towing....

This is it....

and this is what runs it...

Interesting vehicle to drive, geared the same as the 2.0, which is bizzaro being a six. Power delivery is the same as the 2.0 ie nothing until 4k then hammers to red line.

Towing the boat the 6 pulls as hard as the 4 towing nothing though...

Good move. What is the fuel economy like compared to the 4? Similar?

Towing the boat in the lib equalled 14L/100km, towing in the H6 equalled 15.2L/100km. That said, I was happy to pay that premium to not hear a squirming complaining EJ20 towing the boat in third gear for kilometres at a time.

Taking it for a good run this weekend not towing so will see what it is like in that scenario.

The EZ30 is silky smooth though... I want a big fat zorst, wifey didn't like it on the lib so not much chance on the H6

Is an 03 also, 85k. I had been looking at H6's for a while and was happy to pay $29k for this one. To me, the cloth interior was worth more on the ticket price than leather too. Leather ones I had been looking at were all over $30k. If yours is a cloth 03 with 49k I'd imagine 32k or so... maybe less, redbook says about 28k is top of the range which isn't the same as the street as you would know.

Also had a look at a couple of 03 2.5's that were mid 20's too. H6 is waaay better.

Haven't had it off the tar yet, except for a couple of hundred metres on the beach - full throttle U turn on the beach gave lots of slidies and roosters....

No LSD though!!!! What's up with premium models not having lsd.....

Sorry Baz, spent more time fishing on it than taking pics of it :)

Will try and get something nice this weekend.... Might even drag the boat onto the beach and get a nice 'on the sand with the headland in the background' type photo :)

Pic taken on the South Wall Quarry

Went out today, was a little sloppy, made me feel sick, didn't catch anything...

Went yesterday morning and hard a good hard run on a live yellowtail, but didn't connect when I flicked the reel lever to strike.... Then hooked something on a yellowtail that bit me off, stupid sharks....
