Fuel tank

Will a gen 1 awd Liberty fuel tank fit a 97 Forester there is a guy in our club has a rusted tank.
He dose a lot of touring out west on dirt roads and tracks dirt was sitting around the pump on top and over time it rusted out.

all i can say is pull it out and have a look really but if tourings the way to go custom tanks are just awesome!

im going to have an ali one in my honda for the fun of it (few reasons that arent needed here)
and in the subaru when i build it i want to put a new ali tank in to fill up all the nooks and crannies

Yeah it'll fit, Lib fits Impreza & the Foz is just an Impreza underneath.

Yes it will fit but remember the Impreza and Forester have fuel tanks like the Gen 2 Libertys.. on top of the tank, they have these extra 2 breather/crossover vavles in between the 2 normal access holes (one has the pump and gauge sender on it), so I'd try and find a later model one. Maybe if someone has a copy of the WSM handy they could check what these 2 centre pipework things do?? 'm sure they are there for a reason :???:

If there is a difference it won't be hard to swap while the tanks are out, I'm pretty sure we've put a G1 Lib tank into a WRX.
