How many MVBRUMBYBRATS were imported to teh UK

Post by 1111giles » Wed Jan 05, 2011 11:34 pm

Guys I have contacted Subaru UK and enquired if they can tell me how many MV's were imported to the UK, they are looking into it to see if they can extract this info.

Sorry but they cant help with how many were imported into Australia / USA:(

OK Info recieved from SUK. Unfortunatley they cant separate the MK1's from MK2's or the 'handful of 2wd's or indeed the 1600's or the 1800's that were imported this is due to how their older information was archived.

But, from 1977 - 1993 over 16 years - the TOTAL number they say that they imported into the UK was 19,326 trucks ! It works out as an average of around 100 units per month.
This of course will not include any personal imports.
Interesting stuff.........

I have also contacted the DVLA and asked if they can tell me how many MV's are still registered in the UK, again they will see if they can provide this info for us.

Soon as I get any further info on this I'll post it up for all to see.

SOZ cannot tell us as it was a private importer that brought them in at the time - even though brochures refer to subaru australia must not have been owned by mother fuji !

God work

Dough ! Forgot........

re Oz brumby's - isnt the original company traceable ?

Anyhow - I am going to sweet talk one of the (very attractive) Japanese girls at our head office to email Subaru Japan (in Japanese lingo) for me in an attempt to enquire about production figures - I will add to that if they can give a run down on exports to country's ( and also the LWB units )

It'll be wait and see then I suppose.

My intro tactic to Yuko will be a sarnie or somthing to tempt her into my little plan of attack ! You have gotta spoil a girl havent you ?
