Is this really EA82T ECU?
Is this really EA82T ECU?
G'day,
I have just picked up an EA82T and it came with an ECU just wondering if it really the right one.
It has three codes on it,
- 22611 AAOO2
- AII-000 972
- 5902
I did try the search function but couldn't find anything.
Seems to be a 3 plug ECU, wiring loom on the engine seems to have 2 plugs tho at a quick glance?
I should be able to trust the bloke on his word, but he thought it had been "rebuilt" by his mate but I really doubt it by appearances! Could be anything...
Hope someone has the codes.
Cheers.

I have no idea what it came out of, old mate had it lying in his garage in front of his car. He thought he could use it as an upgrade motor for his EJ16 Impreza!!! (1.8 is bigger than 1.6
)
So I don't think he really knew a lot about it!
And what his "mate" told him about it was largely rubbish, Doubt it has ever had a rebuild.
He also thought it was from a '95 model vehicle but I think '85 would be closer to the truth. (not that I know a hell of a lot about subies)
I didn't get a loom with it, just the ECU and the wiring on the actual engine.
Glad you mentioned pulling the spark plugs, I'll get onto that for sure.
Hopefully one day it'll go into a Brumby or an L series.
edit - ECU does have 3 plugs/ports. Also says 'japan electronic control systems co. ltd' below the ID codes.

Thanks for your help.
This gear will most likely sit in the shed for a while before I make use of it so there won't be any project in progress pics just yet!
My L series already has an EA82T, might sell it on sometime next year to kickstart me into project mode. To make room for one too!
I haven't had a real hard look yet but the intake plenum(?) seems larger on this engine than the one I already have fitted. Is this an indication of the original donor vehicle?
Thanks again.
Sorry to hear about your Vortex. Looked like a really sweet ride.
Cheers,
Tim.

your numbers quoted will suit a 3 plug turbo ea82 application, in auto or manual depending on which discrimination you trigger.
