Can any one tell me if you can test the module in an ea81 electronic distributor? And how?

I don't know how to test it, but I know that the symptoms of a bad one are, it runs fine for a few minutes then stops dead. Of course every time you check for spark it has spark and so you start to blame other things. (plugs, leads, fuelpump/lines, that funny little box above the steering column ect) I found that the modules turn up on ebay from america at about half the price that auto electricians charge.

There was a method a bit like ' lick fingers and touch across the two contacts that wires go to and you might see a spark at a grounded plug end' but needs better explain.

these modules also found in things like some astras, honda civics, barinas and other things list of I had cannot find at the moment.

Zzzz

more is coming to me...the rotor has to be in the right spot as if it is about to trigger, turn the ignition on then place licked fingers across terminals of module...only told to me by Bitsamissin mechanic - never demonstrated.
