Sounds good but I am on the other side of the country - but if you could get some photos would be great. Would like to know if he is using EA or EJ tye gearbox though.

The 6 speed is definatly the way to go, even if people are breaking them with the eg33 turbos

I'm hoping the lack of torque and the high revs will actually give the box an easier time - especially with my mechanically sympathetiic driving style.

Although an 8000rpm side step off the clutch for a drag launch will probably kill any Subie box

only thing ive ever seen kill a 6 speed was SVX twin turbo drag car, think it was close to 10 grand revs, side step, dug in. clunk, splat, tears

rotormotion are rotary tuners and just around the corner from me. in the morning and early some evenings the sound of 1000 wild victa lawnmowers straining against the dyno drifts over the languid air. it is music, sweet music.
sometimes they test them on the quiet backstreets and the screaming of the lackybands plus the acrid stench of burning rubber fills the air.

.....actually it would more likely be a brumby strapped to the engine but hey

Good question dibs - they do not create much vacuum - we had issues installing an aftermarket cruise control unit, turned out that to make it work we had to cut a set wire on the CC unit to accept low vacuum pressures. Once this was done our CC worked a treat. That rotary was awesome too!

Dad's loved them (and V8's) for a long time. His mkII fastback VW had a 13B rotary in it reversed 180 degrees. The only reason its not going now is that it doesn't have a rotary to go in it and dad doesn't have the time sort it out if he did

The series 2 RX7 which the CC went into was a great unit - other than it was a 3 speed auto, although you could drop it into 2nd at 90km/h and it would scream off without as much as a hesitation. We hit the buzzer numerous times

Very first Subaru with any real go that impressed me was a rotary powered GL5 MY but I am sure it did not last long with the rote likely to have shed its Subaru skin and taken off on its own in FWD

yeah I still own the Leone Coupe with the 13bt in it and yes it's the one on youtube. And yes it's a rotary despite what the YouTube peanut gallery say.

It's a series 5 13b turbo with adaptor plate running a liberty 5 spd awd box, wrx rear diff and four wheel discs.

For all the poo hooing, it's a crap load of fun and sure they swallow heaps of petrol and oil but you're not putting a rotary in for fuel economy or you'd stick with the ea81 and the hitachi carb!

Keep it tuned, do your oil and plugs regularly and GET A VERY GOOD CLUTCH!

I have picked up WRXER's Brumby a few weeks back :

and now I have picked up a 13B turbo and 5 speed box :

Now the question is do I stick to the original idea of running Subaru AWD or just run RWD with the mazda box ?
