OK perhaps I was a little brief in the first post. The word in my ear is that there are no power/automatic antennas that can fit in the space available.

Im pretty sure he means inside the guard where the stock brumby aerial fits

you would need to pull the guard off and see how much space you have to play with

then find an aerial that fits

I have been investigating one of those little whip aerials instead, But for some unknown reason the aerial on my new brumby is mounted on the left hand side!
87 targa brumby (Neglected),
92 targa brumby (weekend runabout),
97 Lifted Outback (Dailey drive),
05 outback safety (Too cheap to pass up),
90 model liberty (was to be scrapped instead sold to workmate)
+ others.

That's because you have the fender on your truck that would have been for a LHD vehicle. (so the driver has nearest position to the manual pull up aerial)

The Taiwanese 'pattern' front fender's have the aerial position in the lhs.

I just welded the cut out up smoothed and painted over - and have gone for a roof centrally mounted aerial just above the cab interior light. (there is sufficient room there)

The visual is great and it doesn't risk being whipped off by beign on the fender as always seems to happen.
