Leone power steering blues

Post by jazza » Sat Apr 15, 2006 6:40 pm

Hi
I just bought a Nov 83 leone touring wagon (4wd). It has a power steering fluid leak from where the steering shaft goes into the top ofthe power steering rack.

Can anyone tell me if there is a simple fix for this or if I am up for a reconditioned rack? If a reco rack is needed, what is a fair price?

:( :( :( :( :( :(

Hi jazza, I am in a similar position with a L-series rack.
Appears to be leaking in that area too. Hope you dont mind me jumping on your post!

I would also like to know, failing getting another rack, is there a seal kit for these after market supply - eg PBR etc?
My OEM manuals give me a good break down to do this, dont think any specialist tools are required, my rack hasnt any bad play. Anyone done this?

I used a stop-leak additive for the Power Steering Fluid that worked well for a few months, although my leak was between the resevoir and the pump.
