everything.

sorry to be sarcastic mate, but you need to be a bit more specific. What model ford are they from? And to be honest if no-one has done it before, then its virtually impossible to expect anyone to know from a one sentence post and without pics or anything.

Sorry, just winds me up.

I'm pretty sure the XF Falcon rods were what you used to fit the L control arms to MY's.

Not sure what you wanted to achieve, as kwijmbo a little more info would help.

Sorry bout the shortness.xd/xf i think. bro in law has a ford he is getting rid of and i thought i could use the rods as spares considering the amount of times i've seen em bent.Just need to know if you cut em or drill em.A few guys have used em.
Thanks Will

I may be wrong but I remember Brumberty fitted modified Falcon bits when using L series lower control arms to MY when also fitting L series front drive shafts and extended tie rod/rack ends to make the Brumby handle like a Cooper S.

I beleive the ends had to be cut shorter, forged flat and have the holes drilled in them. The Ford rods are much larger in diameter, and allow the next bit in line to take the punishment (raising the threshold before disaster mind you). Next bit being the castor rod mounting plate on the body / lift kit.
They also give a little more castor, making the car handle better on corners and wear more evenly on the tyres.

I beleive the Wonder Brumby (a name I finally agree with!!!!) uses L series control arms, hubs, steering knuckles, driveshafts and steering rack? I have all this gear in my garage and to complete the "LY" I'm turning my MY into I'd like to fit all this... looks possible.

Matt needs to get in here and answer some questions! :D

Not a ford man but I belive XD/XE/XF are all the same castor rods.

I am about to do this and the intention is to keep the MY rack and use the L tie rod ends (longer) so no spacers are required in the rack, L lower control arms to improve camber and castor, L hubs /brakes, a massive 12mm larger diameter disc and L struts/springs, hopefully the strut tops wont break as easily and might aid turning as they have a real bearing.
Hold up is getting the strut tops modified over easter, ran out of argon :x
All being donated by the RX

I was simply going to grind the ends of castor bars flat and drill them, if they bend at this point then I may get them forged, they are not hard to find and not much harder to find for free

Howdy sorry, been a bit on.
Ian (Legacy TT) got them done for me.
Tim is on the money though, they need the flat area extended by forging and the holes redrilled to suit the lower control arms.

I would do this mod again in a heartbeat.
Get a part number off Bluesteel and you won't have to make rack extenders like I did, he found a longer tie rod end to suit.

I am using MY hubs though, there is only the piddliest difference in disc size, I have not yet found the need.
I will be though.
Lower control arms and actual shafts are from an RX, any L will do but I have a Liberty box and it all matches up.

Good luck guys.
