Choosing a number plate for our new Outback

Post by SUBYDAZZ » Wed Jul 14, 2010 5:42 am

Having some trouble deciding o a good number plate for our new 2007 Outback 2.5i Luxury.

I want one of the standard formats which means either of the following:

AAA111
AA11AA
AAA11A

Where A is letters and 1 are numbers.

http://www.myplates.com.au is the site to check availability.

Just thought I'd put it out there to see what you all think would be appropriate plates.

I'm thinking I kind of like OUT07L or OBK07L but not sure.

I currently have DAZ678 (I couldn't get two Zs) on my Liberty and MY05RS on my 2005 Impreza RS.

What do you reckon?

You really want to spend money on a plate which just kindof says the year and model of the car in a weird way that 90% of people won't even understand?
I think if you are absolutely set on getting a personal plate try and think of something clever.

Or you could play it safe, I hear the government are offering standard-issue plates with a guarantee now that nobody at all will think you're a wanker when they see your car :)

I should stop heh, I'm not a fan of most personal plates!

i've got personalised plates, made them my intials and birth year. Just simple. and they have been on 3 of my cars already. Personalised for me, and I don't need to buy a new set each car I buy.

Yep. :) It's just part of accessorising.

My other number plate is my birth month and year.

my dads liberty has the plates, in the regular normal looking wa format

1CRB-006 cos the car is a 2006 RB liberty

and our old verada was;

1AEI-996 cos it was a 1996 ei verada

i persionally like OBK07L but i reckon plates that match your name rather than the car are better, then if you sell the car you can carry them along.

i know a big arse lifted patrol with the plates EJ22WA who was a previous forum member haha.

Standard plates AAA11A format - OUT80K - if you say it with abit of a South African accent it sounds like Outback.

OU78AK
OUT84K
OUT84C

i vary nearly bought LIQUIDHOT, for the old magna as in Liquid hot magma, ala austin powers.
wa is spoilt with its cheap plates and no ongoing fees, although rumor is that it will change. i got personal plates on 2 vehicles and dont like the initials/birthday thing or the HOTGTS type either, it shows no imagination.

I ended up going with DNS21F - Dazz 'N' Sarah 21st Feb. This way I'll hopefully not forget our wedding anniversary. Got it in the pretty silver with black characters to match the car a little better than the black on white. :)
