BUGGER, my EA82T is making steam on start up. Only just last week was holey hose replaced, engine did not get chance to get hot due to my watchdog metal temp gauge. Gave system a cleaner flush thanks Nulon, then dosed up with 30% mix for up to minus 18 C protection. Two nights out in the frost and next start up produces steam, so did a drive along the road. It is not pressurising the radiator as far as I can see , sucking water from one year old genuine inlet manifold gaskets - I doubt it . Five or six year old head gaskets maybe or worse, my gas system creating too much combustion heat and buckle the heads.
Wondering as this is not pressurising cooling system if a chemiweld treatment may do something or be a waste of time. Good time to try it ?

goss's chemiweld works well. The one is the white bottle. The 'seal up' stuff in a clear bottle doesnt work as well.

My thinking is that if a rad system is copping the cylinder pressure chemiweld powder in white bottle does not get a chance, but as it is now mmm maybe....
Glad it only happened nearby so no tow truck costs, and I didn't keep it in storage to fit to another car later to find this
Also recall wondering if I could hear detonation in the days before, then put noise down to something else, so may need to remind self to see if test procedure in factory manuals works with most of the ECU disconnected.
