CV boot guards MY, MV, Brumby, BRAT

Just starting this one off, buzzing off to imageshack to retrieve some pics I emailed to self to reduce (until I master Picasa if it can resize at all)

Pictures should speak enuff words. The plates use the lower control arm bush bolt on the rearward side from memory.

there is three pictures (all on one link), showing the guards to be left and right , same size as a standard postcard - 6" x 4" [for Gannon] with a tag bent up square. I used aluminium from a mangled roadsign but lately found the aluminium from road kill is more tensile and does not take to bending - it breaks

I tested the link - worked for me and can click on enlarge image too. Only 50 odd kb for dial up friendly [per pic]

These have been in use for years and repainted them when I fitted my turbo modded cross member for future turbo EA82 instal.

I made one of these up for my standard brumby about a year ago after I blew a coupla inner boots on the drivers side due to stress from the heat of the exhaust (Cat converter).

Same thing, uses the bolt for the control arm bush to hold it in place and it sits on that bottom lip of the control arm. I made mine from two sheets of gal with exhaust wrapping sandwiched between and riveted together. It sits under that inner boot and shields it from the exhaust so sits horizontally between the boot and the exhaust providing insulation from the exhaust heat,. Works a treat and I have had no more blown boots there since.

Already in talks with IPA (Intellectual Property Australia) on 'my' isolation box for the more sensitive electronics we plug into cig lighter when starting - someone in here contributed the circuit diagram. Engineer said their costs were minimal - was it about the $100 mark?
