Hey Trevor.. do you have Veale Auto Parts over there? I use them over here for most parts (I have an account with them so it's cheaper for me) if you can't find anything over there, let me know and I'll get some prices from over here for ya :)

Cheers,
Paul

i got dohc 2.5 top overhaul kit and no issues, there is 2 different rocker covers for them, i got a kit that showed 2 different types of gaskets (4 in total). the spare ones fitted my wrx too. all fitted fine and seems ok. they have huge market there to keep costs down. you could but genuine head gaskets and ebay full kit if you concerned.
dunno bout pistons and bearings, im sure quality is ok but what if they wrong size or something.

When I rebuilt my EA I got the rings, bearings and seals from the place that did the bore work. It all came together well and ran like it should have...

Just makes sure the products are of a reputible brand.

Cheers

Good old Aussie company ACL make some nice Subaru bits these days top shelf Bearing sets, good pistons and the Total Seal gapless rings of US fame are actually made and designed by ACL and supplied under contract, that does suck though as they are shipped from here to the US then shipped back to Australia, same thing happens with the top notch Sonar systems in our Subs made in Sydney ,German company bought up the Aussie company and they get shipped to Germany then come back home at ten times the price,Globalism sucks.
Cheap parts are but a small saving on a rebuild when you factor everything in so remember pennywise poundfoolish as the Poms used to say.

Huh? ACL ? I was told by parts dude that ACL went under with Mitsu Australia, however the ACL website says it is still trading sort of thing. Permaseal is another brand that aagaskets in melbourne supply to retailers. Site lists seals n gaskets numbers etc. Stating the EA82 HG is BN550 and is of graphite design. Time to email the ACL people to get some truth

Cheers
Giles.

That would be great if you would let us know what you think of the USA parts you receive.

Thanx..Trevor
