ej22 ecu question

Post by mrmattyking » Fri Jun 04, 2010 10:17 pm

Hi, I'm converting l series to ej22, the donor car is an auto, bolting it to the ea 5 speed gearbox, Does anyone know if the ej22 auto ecu will be ok or will i need to get one from a manual, or as i have read on some websites that it's possible to remove a chip or 2 out of the auto ecu to convert it to a manual ecu?? any info would be much appreciated. Cheers.

Yeah it will be fine, you might just have to bypass the inhibitor switch.

Agreed. Dunno about the inhibitor switch though, I thought it was just this wire that you didn't worry about (cut and tape to isolate it) and you're done with the auto stuff.
