Snow button what exactly does it do?
I have been using it on the greasy roads at odd times and in the mud sometimes, But it seems to just load up the engine for smoother changes but does it help lock the centre diff or even change the front to rear ratio? My dad used to have a car that used to do this automatically bellow 2 degrees. I dont want to be doing it any harm but can't really make the most of it if I dont know what it does or how it works.....

same as the 'hold' button i think.
on my 02 lib it makes the car take off in 2nd gear and doesnt rev the motor as hard. Seems to be like a traction think for icy conditions. Tries to minimise wheel spin.

Yep.. it's there to minimise wheel spin on take off.. less torque due to low revs

Yeah its either a "hold gear" switch or step down gear to minimise wheel spin, best on slippery/icy roads.

My understanding is that it also locks out 1st gear, so you only have 2-4... less power off pedal is good for snow/ice, especially if you gas it too much exiting a corner in the snow and it shifts up without you expecting it
