What car? I'm guessing you're talking about the commonwhore?

can be done, but i dont think theres any switchable options. Youd have to either weld it, or you can get a locked diff centre, subaru do them.

if you weld it you know youre gunna be squeeling around corners in carparks n shit, and also wear out tyres twice as quickly.
Not sure if its an option for ya, but you can remove a rear cv shaft to prevent this. Not sure if the AWD system will like it tho.

A H190 is a Nissan live axle type differential . I think they were some sort of metricated copy of an early pomy diff , silly things like carrier bearing adjustment via shims on the hemisphere side of the hemisphere .
Datsun 620's and 720's had a version of the H190 and I presume the Detroit locker hemisphere was intended for them . I had an ex rally one in the bum of my old Bluebird and I wouldn't use one in a road car again by choice .

Interesting..GOD wrote:Never heard of a 190, but NIssan has used R180 and R200 diffs in the front of IFS Navaras and Pathies, and there are/were switchable lockers available for these.

this started out about me putting an lsd in my l seires on a rally, well there happend to be a more modern wrx.
the 180 fits in a l seires and the next one up, 190 or 200 fits in the wrx, probably the same in a foz dunno, and then you can still get limited slip diffs and lockers for both of the diffs i presume

Your L series has a r160 rear diff and so do all other Subaru's, except for later STI's, which have r180 rear diffsspike wrote:hmmm

ok thanks for clearing that up but he seemed pretty sure that datsun/nissan diff centers are the same size and interchangeable, with a diff lockSuparoo wrote:Your L series has a r160 rear diff and so do all other Subaru's, except for later STI's, which have r180 rear diffs

I am not sure if this would work and I dont have the funds or the time to do it.
But if you used a r180 sti diff housing (starting to get more common) and then put a navara r180 diff with a lokka centre (just released early this year) then you would have a good strong auto locking diff and upgraded sit rear shafts to go with it.
