with a Torx bit but I'm not at the shop atm to tell you about the size/number of it. Should be in a WSM.

or if it's still out of tthe car.. just stand it upright (tailshaft output pointing down) and tailshaft out.. Should drain out nicely :)

how strong are these boxes? Is it going to cope with the power i plan on running? I want to be sumwhere up at the 250kwatw range.

Id be very very very sad if i broke a 6grand gearbox. Which is why im still open to the auto option.

As for running it in a drag car, I wouldn't recommend it as it's slower than the modified autos but as a race/drive car.. go for it

same as the one that a mechanic mate has here though - ta!

also looking at this thing it has a hose front to rear of it. possible to pump fluid out,cool it and put it back?

I'm thinking there is a cooling setup for the Rally spec 6 speeds but you'll need to do some research on the web for it.

Actually.. the more I think of it, I think it's the late MY00 STi I'm getting mixed up with (re: torx bit)

nah this one is a 04 liberty sedan. two bolts in the base.

Yeah.. 1 bolt for the front diff oil and 1 for the gearset oil. As some STi had LSD front diffs that required different oils to the gearset.

I found that when we did the car. should have made a note what box (code) is was.

There is a guy over there with a 6 speed behind his 475 kw and 600nm legacy wagon which runs 10's and it seems fine!
