Cruise Control in '84 Touring Wagon

Post by jayjaco » Wed Mar 29, 2006 9:40 pm

Hey,
I recently looked up on a chart of what was fitted or an optional extra on the MY touring wagon (1984 model) and it said that cruise control was (or could be) fitted to that particular model...
I'm fairly new to owning a Suby, and either I'm a bit thick or mine hasn't got it fitted. What I want to know is where was it fitted and to which part of the dashboard was it attached?
I'd be most grateful if someone could help me as CC is very helpful over long distances (saves your legs from cramping up!!)

Cheers

Jay

got it on my MV Brumby 1984 model but it ain't factory.

If you are in Australia, Kmart supacheap and autobarn all sell AP50 or AP60 cruise control kits one on special at the moment at $180 or so. I have AP50 from KMart , all made by a good company based in Sydney, but made in China or somewhere. Used for four years so far.

Malc has fitted on recently to hi Brumby and had some difficulty with the carby cable connection. I didn't as my carby and cable set up is not the same as usual.

I have the vacuum unit mounted under the glove box to keep it clean dry and away from heat. The electronic brain is also there and the control panel is small and mounted onm gearshift console

Hope this info helps

Bit of a late reply, but check out the USMB.
I recently saw a complete MY dash on there with cruise for sale.

Ive seen them on MYs and on L series but they wherent available in Oz as an option. The Vac actuator for the Mys looked very much like the early forester ones
