Brumby Choke

Hey Guys,
Hello from a new member, long time reader, first post.
I have a 91 Brumby that has a prob with the carb.
Started playing up last week, early cooler morning, foot to the floor for the auto choke, start her up, idles for a couple of seconds then cuts out.
During the day and on warmer mornings starts Ok, runs Ok
Is there a workaround for bypassing the auto choke, maybe a way to manually engage a low air scenario.
I've tried fuel down the throat, goes for a while, but still cuts out after a short time.
I'm in the boondocks ATM and don't have access to a decent place to get the carb looked at, and don't have my workshop manual with me...

After trying to start it today when it usually requires little or no choke, it actually feels like starvation.
It idles for a few seconds, then cuts out. Tried all throttle positions, but every time, it falters and dies.
Blocked fuel filters? blocked main jet? Any others options?
I tried to get 2 new filters today, both parts given to me were wrong, 89 Brumby, anyone have part number or type for spares guys

Ive got an 89 brumby with an auto choke have you tried unplugging the wire that goes to the choke solenoid on the carby

or is it a water choke? way easier to bypass just put in a bypass tube

Be carefull which one you unplug as you may accidentally unplug the fuel shut off solenoid, Unfortunately ive only dealt with the manual choke on the brumbys so cant help too much!

I had the problem once before. It turned out that the spring in the choke control had broken, I just bent the end over and slaped it back together. No more problems since.

I had a manual one before i went to the Weber and i had no dramas with it all, you only seem to here of problems with the auto ones. I think i way have a spare if you want it not sure if it is auto or manual choke tho, but i am not home for another 2 weeks. PM if you do and you can have it for the cost of postage if i can find it. That way you can rebuild one and put it back on the ute, etc.

Only problem I ever had with my manual one was I had the cable had come off the edge of the throttle body. So it ran a bit rough but still went from conargo to Deni without complaining just ran a bit rich before I noticed!
