Say Hi and introduce myself

Post by Bumpy » Wed Mar 03, 2010 10:42 am

Hi All
My first post so I thought I should do the right thind and introduce my self.
I have just purchased first Brumby 12/92, always wanted one as a project, a little rough around the edges but straight and rust free, plenty to work on.
I have coolant coming out the radiator overflow, I suspect a blow head gasket, reading the manual about gasket replacement, to replace the head I need to torque in down and then do a 90deg angle torque.
My question to any one who wants to reply is, do I need to buy new head bolts or are they reusable?

welcome to the board bumpy

brumbys don't have head bolts they have studs unless your brumby has an EJ motor in it the over head valve ea81 has head studs and all of the hardware is reusable

the EJ motors use replacable head bolts which some people replace with head studs
the easiest way to find out what motor you have is to look on the block at the front on the drivers side

Give it a new radiator cap first if it has not already got a brand new one
