Battery goes flat overnight

Battery goes flat overnight on my ej22 l series (and its new) the alt is charging no problems... must be something shorting for this to happen and it must be before the ignition.

anyone with sparky experience have any suggestions as to how to fault find on this one...

This isn't the old problem of the EJ22 alternator excitation wire being on the primary circuit is it? That wire needs to be on the ignition circuit or else it draws power 24/7, flattening the battery overnight.

Subarino and Vidler both had this issue if I remember right....

Yeah... on EJ22 motors the alternator is turned on with ignition... if this wire is hooked to cinstant power (as in ea alternator wiring) your battery will go flat over night. Or over a period of a week with a HUGE battery like mine. Try unpluging the connector on the alternator over night and see if that solves it.... If it does i will let u know how to fix the problem.
