What is in the name of a car?
Came to me when sitting behind an immaculate khaki green Leyland Marina - Jeremy Clarksons favourite bash
Sometimes I guess a name is hoped to be synonymous with the use or expectation of the vehicle,to get the purchasers imagination inspired.
As far as Subaru and its Brumby goes, it is a good little workhorse. Brumby - wild horse esp. one descended from runaway stock.
From what I understand they can make good workhorses once caught and broken in - or good dog meat
I think Leone may have been better reserved for the 4WD versions rather than the FWD. Leone suggests to me the more rugged outdoors. Maybe the lesser seen FWD should have just got L Sedan
Leyland Marina , suitable if you wanna use one (if you can find one) in a marina - as an anchor!
I suppose the Austin Tasman could be found - in the Tasman sea, as a lost anchor.
Man, what were they suggesting you could do if you bought a Kimberly? Get stranded in them. The Kimberlies!
What are your findings and suggestions?

Leone means lion or lions strength depending on which language the description comes from.
I had a student in an art class who ribbed me about driving a Subaru he said it had a girls name (yet he wanted to drive a Nissan Sylvia it turns out) Leone is a girls name in a really annoying voice, he was really bad at art and funnily enough he failed and I drove an MY wagon not an L series wagon and as I understand it the MY wagons didn't get called Leone's rant rant rant
ford meteor is one of my favorites as well all know what happens to a meteor
I can't remember where it was in South America but the Chevy Nova hardly ever sold as the translation in the local language meant Chevy no go

Its interesting as the L series 4wd wagons didn't get called a Leone either. To find parts for them most of the time I put them under the leone banner so long as its for my Model Year range...TOONGA wrote:I drove an MY wagon not an L series wagon and as I understand it the MY wagons didn't get called Leone's rant rant rant
