Post by Jason.Rheinberger » Mon Feb 08, 2010 2:41 pm

will this motor fit into a brumby?

If not what is the newest EJ 22 i can put in the old girl

Also little bit confused with the whole SOHC and DOHC which one do i need to source in order to make life simple when converting the brumby

01 libs never came with ej22, in the gen3's theyre either a ej20 sohc or ej25.

you can fit any subaru motor into your brumby, but for any of the EJ's youll need to do sum chassis rail mods.

only the double overhead cam motors (quad cam/2 cams per head 4 per motor) need the chassis rail cut.

if it is a single cam engine (2 cams per motor/ one per head) it will fit in with a minimum of fuss and it will be either an EJ20 (2 litre) or and EJ25 (2.5 litre) unless someone did a transplant

a sticky on the subject

My advice, never believe what wrecker says, you need to see it on your own eyes and also if possible you could check the car where it came from..

You can put a 2010 model EJ into a Brumby if you want. Mechanically all the same principals apply, the only difficult thing is wiring. It get's pretty hairy with the later models I beleive, you would probably have to enlist the help of a professional for this side of things when getting the loom cut down to run.

Ive seen whole cars advertised for around the same price it just depends on the luck of the draw
