GT Forester Manual Boost Control problem

Post by SuBaRiNo » Sun Jan 31, 2010 9:28 pm

I have just installed a manual boost controler (GFB) in my GT Forester. Im sure i have installed it correctly as i followed instrctions outlined by several different web sites.

I have only adjusted the boost up to about 10PSI but im finding when it reaches 10PSI and the revs increase i get a buzzing noise coming from under the dash... sorta sounds like a relay buzing. Anyone else had this or know what it is or how to fix it?

Could it be something to do with the ECU controlled boost controller freaking out??

I had an aftermarket boost guage do similar and I fixed it by putting a vacuum damper in line with it. Was quite a few years ago so I can't remember where I got it from.

*shrugs*

This site shows what i did http://www.wrx.com.au/forum/viewtopic.php?t=45381

In that first pic.... I blocked hose 3 and replaced hose 1 and 2 and put the MBC in line.

Hose 3 goes off to some little box with wires coming off it on the drivers side of the car.

dave,

do it like this, hose from compressor housing to MBC, then hose from MBC to waste gate, block anything else of and it should all work ok, this is what i have done on my RS. like in this picVVVVV
