Hi all , out of curiosity how many Km has your L Series RX Turbo seen .
Mine is just about up to 321K and I've done the last 72 of them .
Long live the old RX Turbos .

From my dash dissembly I'd say no one has been there before so original speedo odo. Had 188,000 on it when I saved it from the wreckers yard, just ticked over 225,000. BUT the engine in it when I got it had been cooked and it appeared to be an import with exhaust temp sensor or 2nd O2 sensor , so it may be engine number 2. Engine #3 is my work in progress out at the moment. Engine #4 (ex cruisingbrumby was in for a few weeks but had issues with poor comp 60 psi in just one pot causing sump oil to blow into air intake up steep incline was the best donk so far power wise , ran so sweet was hard to understand its issues arising. Engine #5 (LTurbos old one )is in at the moment and refuses to die given its little end bearing noise under mild load, itself had about 220,000 on it when removed , so near 230,000 on it so far.And no oil leak

And it is not an RX but GLTA

mine is sitting at 357k, but with bigger tyres i guess it's technically more than that. i will be putting the odo back to 0 when i put the EJ20 in so that part of the car's history will be lost

Do I win anything if my RX only has 199 000?

I suppose it just means the timing belts are due!

You gotta wonder, if the average distance travelled by a car in Australia is about 20,000km, these cars we have got have way under the average. Mine , new in Mar 87 is nearly 23 years old and on average should have 460,000. I know mine was sitting around a few years before I bought it, and around a good year or more in my care before getting back on the road.

I think maybe it fell into the wrong hands and not got proper oils, servicing and basic care, for much of its later kms up to 188,000. I do know a car yard sales guy did his best to convince the mechanics that they were a good car when he sold them new, but a new radiator did not fix mine so it went and sat in a wreckers for a few years- bits started to be sold off it until I put a stop to it. A temp gauge that only read to 1/4 and no more was the major culprit in cooking its engine.
