Or you can just ship it to AM Autos in Yandina and Al will do it and ship it back.

Thanks for the reply guys. I'm on a pretty tight schedule and don't have the right wiring diagrams etc. The engine and gearbox are in the L series, it's running with harness resting on the rad support. I'm getting the L series shafts re-splined to suit the 98 model cv's and still messing around with the shifter but getting there.

Hi mate. Give Subarino a PM, he might be interested in doing a loom for you although he mostly only does EJ22 ones. Worth a try tho.

Re-splining the shafts? that's abit weird I've never heard of that being required. Sounds expensive. What gearbox are u putting in?

what kind of inner CV's does the gearbox need? are they the male type which "plug in" to the female part on the gearbox?

The ej gearbox has the shafts sticking out and the cv slides over it held on by a roll pin?

What do I need to do with the diff? It's a later model one with the cv's that go into the gear box.

Gearbox? U mean diff maybe?

I think you might mean it's a later model diff with female inputs on either side, ie it had male inner CV's in it's original car.

If this is the case I havn't put one of those in an L series before and am not 100% sure on the solution. I think there is an inner CV from some donor car which will go onto your L series rear shafts.......but it's much much easier to get a rear diff with male stubs and stick that in. Just need to be sure it's the correct ratio.

What ratio is the diff you have, and is it LSD of any kind?

Would it be possible to do the centre swap trick to have a diff centre that has the male stubs bolt to it? Thus creating a male stubbed rear diff.

The other trick I've heard is to grab another set of rear diff stubs, grind a groove in the same place as the impreza's rear driveshaft to fit the retailing pin in. Plug the bolt hole with some silicone then tap them into place. Hopefully some one can verify this trick ;)

Cheers
