Brumby ea81 - Reco heads installed water in oil
Howdy,
Just finished installing a pair of reco heads on the ea81 donk. Heads had the full works by engine shop. Use loctite aviation hardening cement on inlet manifold gaskets, adjusted valve clearances. When I started her up, checked everything, topped up coolant, notice coolant dropping like crazy, engine running great. No leaks observed from anywhere. Checked the dip stick and it has the oil/water junge. Took the rocker covers back off and they were full of oil/water mix. Checked head torque(64nm), found one nut a little loose, adjusted valve clearances, removed inlet manifold and replaced the new gaskets with gasket goo. When I installed one of the gaskets, i accidentally grazed and bent it (Reinfoced with metal) and I suspected that it was going to cause drama's in the first place. Cleaned up everything, re-installed rocker covers and topped up coolant. Started her up and let her run for a while. Again, oil/water gudge on dip stick, no drop in coolant. Rocker covers off again, water/oil sludge in covers. Checked all PVC hoses, all gunged up. Cleaned everything again, checked head torque again all good. Cleaned eveything, re-installed everything and tighed all up. Changed oil as well. Took for approx 25km run. Runs great, checked coolant, no drop but oil/water gunge all over dip stick and hoses on rocker covers have oil/water gunge as well.
Whats doing on..................
I am suspecting that my gasket goo inlet manifold fix might be causing issues (Have ordered some new gaskets from Subaru). Should I have used a head gasket sealant? Anything else I should be looking at as I'm totally lost on this one.....

Heads had the works including welsh plugs and pressure, crack tested.
Cleaned all surfaces with that gasket remover then wiped everything down really well. Going to replace inlet manifold gaskets with genuine suby ones when they arrive.
Oil filter................................................................ BUGGER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
There is probally moisture and water in the filter and is being pumped around the motor!!! Didn't even cross my mind!

u didn't say you changed oil and flter when heads went back on. I say if you didn't that could be your problem, someone forgot ot tell you? Also after a run, leave oil fill cap off and stick on your seat to remind you on start up. This will help water to steam off the oil so long as you have not achieved the ol pressure helps water and oil mix

When I got home from work, chanked inlet manifold gaskets, flushed engine with engine flush, new oil and oil filter and all problems sorted!!!
