Brake specs of EA81T

Brake specs of EA81T
I am wondering if the factory fitted EA81T vehicles had any different brakes to the standard MY EA81 equipped vehicles. We all know the L Series EA82T got disc brake rear. Was it only US Brat or Japanese Brumbies that got the EA81T?
Anyone got contact with other forums member in US that has factory EA81T that they could ask?

I cant remember hearing of different brakes for the EA81T models.
I do know that they would have had the vented rotors that the 84 models got, but thats only natural because EA81T's were only made in 84

Turbo was an option in 1983 for the US market.
AFAIK, all Brat's received disc/drum - Turbo or otherwise.

from what I've seen while looking for rotors and hubs on the net the US brats got rear discs as the turbo variant and they are the same as the rear discs on the vortex and the L series turbos

In the US, the EA81T vehicles were vented disc front, drum rear. same as the other MY 84 vehicles.
The automags back in the day wrote articles on the EA81T (Turbo Traction wagon and Brat) as a 1983 1/2 offering, as they weren't available at the start of the 83 model year.... the Turbo Traction Coupe was only available in '84 as far as I can tell.

Ah McBrat saves the day on this one. Thanks heaps. Now, any chance of specs of drums and discs if any different to that of the other Brats and MY of 83, 84 ?
I just want some info to back up a request to an engineer to approve my turbo conversion to my 84 Brumby. It looks as if fitting the later L Series brakes up front on the MY is not going to be possible as first planned and a written requirement for registration approval is to carry over brakes from engine donor vehicle.

in the US in 83, the Wagons were the first to get the vented rotors. The Brats had solids. the rear drums for all models were the same... 83 and 84.
When the say "carry over the brakes from donor", do they give a definition of "brakes". the L series calipers are a tad bigger (thus the change to the wagon wheels). the front wheel bearings are the same. QMan on the USMB had some MY brake parts on the front of a L coupe one time... I don't remember which parts, but for sure one piece was the hub (that bolts to the rotor)... as he had to grind something that was a tad different.... definitely worth looking into.... I saw your other thread, and looks like the L "knuckles" won't work because of the strut and ball joint angles...

In the US, the outer spline count in the hub was the same across all ea81/ea81T/ea82/ea82T (25 spline I think). it was the inners that were different. (turbo 23 spline, NA 25 spline) or might have the numbers mixed around, but the outers were the same for sure....

I've measured the diameter of an old MY vented disc at ~230mm, an old L Series front measures in at ~240mm. You'd think that was such a small difference to not worry an engineer especially as though the project car is at least~100kg lighter than the donor model a sedan at 1060kg or heavier wagon.
