acetylene..

I saw somewhere that someone was asking about renewing gas bottles. can't find the reference now i get told i am not authorised ???
I suggest there is not much to be gained from using acetylene, most jobs can be done with lpg which is a lot cheaper no rent to pay and you can use the gas bottle on the barby as well. you will need to buy lpg tips, or modify your own by getting your 1/8" drill bit and drilling into the end of the tip about 1/8". lpg won't burn properly otherwise unless you are lucky. most plumbers use lpg, if you are doing a lot of outdoors work it tends to blow out easier, not much fun on windy days, and doesn't cut thick metal as good as acetylene but for general welding and light cutting it is ok.
