My good idea !

Post by seagull » Mon Mar 06, 2006 2:13 am

I had a good quality cylinder type magnet & to day removed the drain plug from my auto trans & drilled it out to fit the magnet .

Only to find later when I removed the pan , there is a big ass magnet around the plug on the inside !

dont you hate that !

Yup, both my engine and gearbox plugs have magnets.

Another idea when draining your oil is to drain it over a speaker magnet to get all the metal particals out of the oil. Of cause, this is only if you plan to use the oil again. Just say your running redline oil, you will want to keep it for as long as possible. :)

I would not use red line oil in my lawn mower .

I think its shit and is a cause of many blown boxes , the oil becomes one at speed and does not allow oil to pass though sincros , ect

but it makes $ for guys rebuilding bear boxes .
