I remember someone asking LTurbo Thomas at TimCoupe81 meet and greet a few years back in Canberra if he was happy with going from AWD 4 speed auto to a part time manual 5 speed. Thomas was all smiles and if I recall correctly it was the fuel savings he got that he was happy with. He must have shed about 30kg and got an extra gear but must have been good fuel savings going from auto to manual to get that smile.
I have noticed my fuel gauge is now very slow to drop to the E mark and looking forward to reporting the benefits when known.
What sort of l/100km figures have others experienced in either engine or gearbox swaps ? Getting to and from work for 11 days instead of ten will be accepted(as a 10% improvement

kicking it off as an an edit one month later...I know my Brumby ran out of petrol just over 500km. Then a rebuild proper with 16/56 cam i got 609km from full to splutter, stop. Assuming it was 55 litres as per tank spec that is 9litres to 100km and an extra hundred out of a 'tank'.
