Discharging the MY air con
I,ve done a fare bit of work on aircons. We use HR12 (mostly LPG) on most older aircon systems with great results. The only problem is how flammable it is and possible leaks in the passenger compartment.

Like Peter Garret gives a shit! Wasn't he the one that approved the GUNS mill in Tassie's old growth forests?username wrote:By using a reclaim rag so no one around you can hear or see what you're doing, otherwise Peter Garret will get real sad real quick.
Yeah, AC de-gassing isn't good for the environment if vented straight to the atmosphere, that's a given. GT, Maybe the system is already de-gassed, check that first and go from there

Cheers

R12 is flammable too. whats half a litre of gas gonna do if it leaks out.. It would have to come in contact with something sparking to ignite, not even the heat of your engine is anywhere near the flashpoint of lpg. Chances are it will only leakout like normal aircons do and thats so slow you wouldn't even notice it.
Anyhow, LPG is far safer then petrol, and people are happy to have that running through the car at 40+psi.
