Just as a curiosity I was reading about 14 x 6" Pug alloy wheels (4 x 140 PCD) and was wondering if anyone ever used them on an L Series - is the offset suitable ?

I was looking for pug steelies for my L wagon and a French car repairer I ran into actually had a Suby wagon himself. He reckoned that although they did actaully fit , the offset was different and they poked out too much.
I managed to get a set of 5 14" steelies for $100+ $10 for the wheel nuts as you can't use the standard suby nuts. Main problem with the steelies is you can't balance them on a normal balancer, have to the bolt on type. Alternatively you can have the centre cut out to make them fit a normal balancer. ( maybe a day in the shed with a grinder if you'e feeling really keen )

- Puglies are the closest thing to a factory Subaru offset (other then a Scorpion rim).
- They are easy to balance as any other rim the issue is that not many store have the correct balancing machine or adaptor to accommodate the Pug
If you want my 2c I have been running the Pug’s for years and they work just fine. For all the effort your putting into your RX then I would have thought that your going to want something that looks “ok” and therefore in the 14” the Scorpion are your best option however as mentioned in other threads they are a little costly (Note i also have 15" however they are the Superlights... i have spoken the manufacture about a different design with the 4 x 140 PCD however they were not going to do it for me - bugger).

From what I've read, this only applies to the 504 wagon wheels, the sedan wheels have the right offset and can use the standard nuts. The centre of the wagon wheels is much smaller than the sedan (about as big as a 20c coin, vs about 62cm from memory). The 504 wagon wheels are a thicker gauge than the sedan. 604 wheels should also fit BUT the stud size is bigger.
