weber carb question

Post by grytvikken » Thu Feb 23, 2006 11:32 pm

with a weber on an l-series i have a memory of something about the adapter plates thickness having an effect on the low end power? is this so and if it is would a plate that was twice as thick as a standard one be of benefit in the torque dept? or have i just remembered something wrong?

Wouldnt think that it would make that much difference, as the intake runners are hell long anyway, which do infact give more torque anyway, as opposed to short intake runners that would suit the likes of Weber IDA's or DCOE's that require them for high flow and less restriction.

Chubby had a taller ram style adaptor made for his weber, said it made a big difference.

With one twice the size of standard you might have air cleaner clearence problems if it's not lifted. I bought a cromed fancy one but I couldnot close my hood untill i made one out of a street sign.
