Post by vladrulli » Mon Feb 20, 2006 7:26 am

Found this pic on our local 4x4 club's webpage... it's a Subaru body on a LandRover frame... called Subarover... 38" tires and V8... :)

I gotta say it just doesn't float my boat. Why not just have a Land Rover instead?

I miss the old board. We covered this car there.

The reason its got a Subaru body is because of corrosion. The chassis' outlast the bodies in the semi aquatic offroad conditions of Finland. So when there's too many "holes in the floor" common practice is to put another body on. And Finnish people, like Australian people, take pride in creating something interesting and original to drive around in. Ask yourself this: if your lifted and locked Landy rusted out and the bloke down the street was selling a Legacy on the cheap, you'd do it too....

Tim 0

LOL. I may have used a bad example there. But with no old board data memory is all I have to go on, and mine isn't that great.

But the basis of what I said was right. Shell rusts, replaced with another.

You were going to tell me how Libertys have a galvanised sub-frame weren't you Tim?
