L series tailshafts
Is it possible to fix these? I've got one with a loose uni joint and a dodgy bearing that will soon need replacing.

You can do it but there is a trick - ive done it before but i cannot remember. If you're unsure take it to the shop, be aware make sure you put the tailshaft in right side, if you invert, it can upset the balance.

You basically need the unis back and front from an early Datsun , 5 spd Bluebird Ser 1/2/3 use the same type of gearbox slip joint and the spider is replacable .
Having a Nissan R160 rear diff also means a rear uni from a 1600/180B and they have replacable spiders/bearing cups as well .
By invert I guess you mean the center bearings "hoop" .
I may be guilty of this one , if its inverted does it move the bearing higher or lower than in the correct position ?

Any decent tailshaft/driveshaft place can replace the "non-replaceable" subaru joints with a "replaceable" type.
