having some problems with the plastic sump guard on '98 OBW,
so thought I might price up some various Al sheet at the local supplier...
all 1200x2400
Flat
3mm $220
4mm $320
tread plate (marine grade) - hard stuff, probably the best to go for??
1.6mm $135
3mm $250
2.5mm not in stock,
plus paying some one to bend it,cut it/weld it/, bonus should be plenty Al leftover to do other things with maybe...
there's a diy here http://www.subaruforester.org/vbulletin ... ate-35985/
Or theres the SubXtreme one at $352+delivery which is just plug and play I guess...
i'm not decided which way to go, anyone got a recommendation/comment?
what do you think of those prices above?
do I really need to go thicker mm?, the tread plate feels rather hard stuff compared to the plain flat product.
Outback Bash/sump plate diy?

I've got a SubaXtreme sump/bash gaurd off a Gen III Outback for $50 if you (or anyone else) wants it.
I cut 2 holes - well one hole (for the oil filter, it's a PITA to remove to change the oil, due to its weight), and one to clear the headers on the LH side (i've got the Borla replica headers and they are a fair bit of thicker over the standard headers).
