Tacho Install in a Brumby with EJ22

Post by RedNekTJ » Tue Dec 30, 2008 8:36 pm

Have recently had an EJ22 installed in my Brumby and want to install a Tacho to keep tabs on the engine. Have got the tacho already and know how to install it except for one issue. In hooking the tacho feed wire onto the coil pack where abouts/which wire do I hook it into/onto? Cheers

Hooking up the tacho to a coil will result in a reading of half actual rpm. There are 2 coils that operate in wasted spark.

What you will have to do is pick up the tach signal wire from the ecu,.. the one that originally gave signal to the factory tacho.

The Liberty wiring loom has been cut down to suit the Brumby. So I presume I'll have to hook straight into the ecu?

Yep, have you got an ECU pinout?
