I bought a new car...

Post by PeeJay » Fri Nov 07, 2008 4:43 pm

It's a 2008 Outback 3.0R, 3 months old, 1200km, 5 year warranty, $42k. I pick it up next week.

Can't wait! :-D:-D:-D:-D:-D:-D

My RX has a bad tail shaft and massive metal fatigue cracks around one of the rear suspension mounts so it will be good to have a spare car while I fix it up.

Here's the new spaceship - Still can't believe it's mine!

I have to say - the handbrake works brilliantly...

Very nice!

Is it the pearl white? They look great on a sunny day.

"the handbrake works great"?! Yeah, I guess that's the most important part of the subi :p

So, what's the plan?

Cheers

After having front wheel handbrakes forever, it's a nice change to have one on the rear, and the traction control even unlocks the centre diff for me when it's engaged! Fun!!

I was thinking about getting a Blue one, but since this was the best deal around it's not worth paying an extra $5k just to get a different colour! Thankfully, I actually like white cars.

The plan is basically nothing :) It's got too much warranty. I'm going to do lots of touring with it so it doesn't need any mods except some good tyres. So far I've changed the interior lights to LEDs, and I plan to replace the crappy speakers with something that works better, but that's it. I've still got the RX freekazoid for fiddling with.
