having a whinge

Post by vidler » Thu Nov 20, 2008 9:37 pm

just need to let off a bit of steam in regards to trying to track down a bare half cut for my b4. I've spoken to a good 15 decent subaru wreckers around oz, only 5 have what im after, i've asked them all over a couple of weeks to send through a couple of pics to confirm its the right type, and how many have followed through??? none.

here i am trying to buy something worth a good $800, then i gotta pay for postage which will probably be another $500 odd, and no one seems to want to do business with me.

just wondering where good old fashioned customer service went... none of this "yeah mate, ill send em straight over," and then not recieving a thing.

i reckon soon as they ask where im calling from and i say perth, they must thing im taking the piss or something. but no, all i want is a bare f@#king half cut and everyone is too useless to actually do what they say over the phone.....:mad::mad:

anyway. if anyone knows where customer service is, please put it back:)

Are you after radiator support and that sort of thing? Or is it bent on the side or some thing? When I repaired the Gen 3 my daughter is driving it was actually quite inexpensive to buy the parts new form Subaru.

It was the complete front end I changed on it. Top and bottom rad support and all the parts that attach to it.

Did you try Sunspares? They used to be quite good. I haven't dealt with them for about a year now due to the new owner.

yeah tried sunspares. im wanting pretty much everything to graft on minus strut towers, overkill for what remaining damage there is but i want it to look tip top. replacing both rails to the firewall, and unpick the joint directly infront of strut towers. dont need to, but that's the easiest way to avoid having visible welds and it'll keep al the factory dimensions without requiring any persuasion

i wanna a have a whinge about something too.

Driving home last night after a 11hr day, the cops pulled me over, i was doing nothing wrong, speed limit and everything.

They decided, just to be pricks to give me a yellow sticker, on my LIBERTY!, its apparantly too low, 100mm minimum ground clearance, got home an measured her up, the lowest point was 93mm off the ground! Its ****ing bullshit!....there thats my rant. NOT HAPPY POLICE!, get someone doing something wrong and i'll think about respecting you.

Look on the bright side Keffa, they've obviously caught all the really naughty people and now they have nothing to do. It must be refreshing to live in such a crime free area. Our poor overworked, underfunded, understaffed and undertrained law enforcers can't even catch a cattle theif when I tell them who the purp is, take all the photographic evidence, take statements from eyewitnesses and get the purp to confess to me. I guess it beats being on the dole.

I'm sorry.....is this the whinge thread? :)

right, this can be the whinge thread now:) although nothing to whinge about today, posted another ad on partslocator.com.au last night, had a reply from a wreckers in PERTH, went and checked it out this arvo, is what i need. they're asking a bit more than anywhere else, but i wouldnt imagine i'd get one from over east for anyhting near 950 including freight, so im happy about that. means next break i can get stuck into unpicking the B4 on wed/thurs/fri, get the front cut on saturday and unpick that and start grafting it together!!! awesome.

on another note, the mrs has been trying to convince me to sell the B4 and get a prius:???::???::???:

i've plainly said she's dreaming.... my09 xt foz and b4 are gonna be the only 2 cars in my driveway:)

Alex... you would probably find your on some sort of list with the police now due to your past antics. I assume the L and your Lib are both licensed under your name.

I have mates in Rockingham who get yellow stickered no matter what car they buy. Apparently cos they are on this "List"

Sorry to hear mate, I would go research your facts and maybe lodge a formal complaint with dpi about this whole situation.

Bastards! Glad they didn't see my rear bearings before I replaced them...

Its a bit over the top not allowing you to drive the subi home. Hope you get to shove it up them later in some way or other...

oh yeah, i forgot to say, they also got me for my tyres..which are brand new very expensive marangaroni tyres. apparantly my liberty needs a load rating of 88 miniumum, these tyres have a rating of 87, the difference between the two is 15kg. 88's are meant to hold 560kg a wheel, and the 87's hold 545kg. Its not like my car weighs over 2tonnes. Its jsut bullshit!
